Men are bad for women’s waistlines.
“Men are very bad for women really,” said Dr. David Haslam, Clinical Director of the National Obesity Forum. Dr. Haslam said research shows that women tend to gain weight if they live with men and begin to share meals with men who naturally have higher energy needs and therefore appetites. We also see The Social Eating Threat kick in when women eat with men. Haslam said, “If you are eating with a partner, the evening meal is a social event and it’s no longer just filling a gap. You may eat more and maybe more extravagant stuff.” Couples could also be more frequent victims of The Restaurant Threat as they may go out to restaurants more often than single people. |
